Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we count down, 17 school days left, it is natural for our students to feel excited, anxious, tired, and a little cranky.  We understand kids are out late with spring sports and just to enjoy this beautiful sunshine and longer days. However, we are seeing a lot of sleepy children, so please try to maintain regular bedtime schedules as much as possible.  At school as well, the kids are keeping track at morning meetings of how many days left, but this causes real worries for some of our kids who will miss the school routine, regular meals, and the comfort of their classroom families. We have a lot of exciting end-of-year traditions and events planned, (see the calendar below – volunteers needed for many events) so teachers too, have to try to maintain regular schedules and routines right up to the last day of school.

Congratulations to our 3rd and 4th grade students for persevering and participating in our VTCAP State testing in literacy and math over the past 2 weeks.  Students who missed any portion of the testing will be given make-up opportunities.  I’m so proud of the students’ efforts.  The teachers said they were all exhausted afterwards, which meant they really tried hard and took it very seriously. The students, I mean – and the teachers too!
