Dear SES Families,
Over the past week, children across grade levels have been engaging in outdoor learning opportunities around campus and in town. As a school we work to create opportunities that allow our students to have meaningful and authentic learning experiences on our campus and in the surrounding natural spaces and village environments. Outdoor learning has a range of social, emotional and academic strengths and encourages authentic and emergent learning for students.

Spring Construction and Road Work
With the blooming of the lilac bushes, we are also seeing an increase in construction and road work around the school. Please anticipate giving yourself a little extra time both in the morning and at pick up time.
Cognia – VTCAP Assessment
Our 4th grade students completed their Cognia testing yesterday and 3rd grade will be finishing the math assessment Thursday and Friday this week. We appreciate your support in ensuring that students are present during the testing windows to ensure that students do not need to make up the assessment and miss valuable class time.

End of the Year Activities – Volunteers
We have many exciting end of the year activities for students and for many of these activities we would love adults to help chaperone. We work hard to put systems in place for school safety including our volunteer process. If you are interested in participating in an end of the year field trip or volunteering for an end of the year event, please make sure that you have completed the volunteer paperwork. This documentation needs to be completed every school year.

PTO Updates
The PTO is working hard on putting together an exciting calendar of activities and events for the 2023 – 2024 school year. We would love to hear from you! Please get in touch with us stoweelementaryschoolpto@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering.
Book Fair
The SES Spring Book Fair is coming up! Please mark your calendars for May 22-26th. Students will be visiting the book fair with their classes twice. Once to preview the books and then once more to purchase what they’d like. All proceeds from the Book Fair will go back to the library in new books!
We can’t have a successful Book Fair without a few parent volunteers to help with set up, assisting students with their book selections, running the cash box, and of course, packing up the left-over books at the end. Please show your support by signing up to help for a shift or two over the course of the week. You can sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0D4CAEA629A6FE3-sesspring

On Friday, May 31st at 3:30pm at the Stowe Free Library, James Towne CFP and Colin Pomer, CPA, will be discussing ways to save for your children’s future. There are many options, and it can be difficult to decide what is best for your family. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
