Dear Parents and Guardians,
Two more weeks of school before the long winter vacation, Feb. 27 – March 7. This is the time of year when teachers typically see the biggest growth spurt in a student’s academic learning. Ask your child specific questions about school, like what kind of math menu items they get to choose this week, what book are they currently reading, what is their latest art project or science experiment, how are skiing or snowshoeing going in PE, etc.
Then, be sure to mark your calendar for Friday, March 17th. The MES Annual Student Led Parent Conferences will take place all day. Come watch your child show off all they’ve learned and get a chance to talk with their teacher. Parents will receive a Bright Arrow message explaining how to use our Meet and Greet app to sign up for your conferences. Call Kris with your questions, 888-3101.
Preschool Registration and Developmental Screenings: Do you have a child turning 3 or 4 by September 1, 2023? If so, we would love to hear from you! Lamoille South Unified Union will be hosting preschool registration and developmental screening days on March 8th in Morrisville and March 9th in Stowe. This will be a time to meet the preschool teachers and see the classrooms. We will be screening children and talking with families about any concerns they may have. Families will also have a chance to learn more about partner programs in the area. If families would like to sign up to be on the list for school based public preschool they need to bring two forms of proof of residency and the child’s birth certificate. The slots for the school based preschool programs will be filled by a lottery system. The public school based program runs 4 days a week, 8:00-1:30. Please call Amanda Rivard at 888-6707 ext. 1 for more information or to sign up.
MES Kindergarten Registration and Screening: If you live in Morrisville or Elmore and have a child that will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2023, then we would love to invite you and your child to participate in the MES Kindergarten Registration and Screening. This will take place on Friday, June 9th and Monday, June 12th. Families registering with LSUU schools (including MES) for the first time need to bring two forms of proof of residency and the child’s birth certificate. Vaccination records should also be brought, and we can make copies. The entire screening process takes about one hour. Please call Kris Krueger in the MES School Office, 888-3101, to make an appointment.
