TONIGHT!!!! On Thursday, January 26th at 7:00pm (snow date 1/31), the music department will have its Winter Concert featuring SMHS bands and choirs! The concert is free and in our SMHS auditorium. We hope to see you there!

Winter Break Reading Event Update:
Three participants in the Winter Break Reading Event have been drawn and each has won a $15 gift certificate to Bear Pond Books! Please congratulate Landon K., Ella J., and Nakia B. when you see them and be on the lookout for another reading event over February break! Happy reading!

SMS Spelling Bee – We will be hosting our Spelling Bee on Wednesday February 22nd. The preliminary rounds will take place earlier in the day. The Finals will occur in the auditorium beginning about 1:00 pm. All are welcome to join in the fun and to be silent cheerleaders for our talented students.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness: On Thursday, February 9th, John Halligan will be presenting the story of his son, Ryan, to SMS and SHS students. John shares how repeated bullying, cyberbullying and mental illness ultimately led to Ryan’s suicide. There will be pre- and post-work with students in ADVISORY. This is week 4 of Friday Program. We learned last week that we need to make sure that ALL SKIS and BOARDS that are going to Mansfield for Friday Program at school BEFORE 10:00am. The truck and trailer will be loaded and leaving SMHS by 10:15am to take all the equipment to the mountain.
Some gentle reminders: please make sure names are on all pieces of equipment and if you come to school late, please let the office know if you have left any equipment outside. We don’t want anyone missing equipment.

Lacrosse Players, Families and Friends, Stowe Youth Lacrosse is delighted to announce that registration is now OPEN for the 2023 Spring Season! Our website and registration has a fresh new look and we can’t wait to get started! Register here www.stowelacrosse.com , K-8th graders. Early bird registration discount ends February 28, SAVE $25! We have great coaching coverage for most teams but are still looking for coaches for Kindergarten Fiddlesticks. Please contact us if you’re interested in coaching, and prior lacrosse experience is not necessarily required at this level. If any player is in need of financial support please contact us, if YOU want to play we want to make that happen!
