Homecoming and Spirit Week are this week.

The positive energy is incredible this week. We are thankful to be hosting the upcoming traditional events for the first time in THREE YEARS.  Our seniors have been hard at work planning Spirit Days, a pep rally, and the bonfire.  Monday was Comfy Clothes Day and Tuesday was Country vs. Country Club Day.  The rest of the week will be as follows:

Wednesday: Mismatch

Thursday: Surfer vs. Skier

Friday: grade colors, 9th – red, 10th – purple, 11th – blue, 12th – pink

A new and fun event organized by this year’s seniors is an in house Auction of Vintage PA Uniforms. The event has already raised several hundred dollars and will continue during half time of this weekend’s games. Bring your cash to the games, there is some awesome gear for sale.

Finally, the big events will come in a rush Friday through Saturday. We have a pep rally planned during school hours on Friday, followed by the boys homecoming soccer games at 4:30, then the BONFIRE at 6:30-9pm, and finally, the girls homecoming soccer games Saturday at 11am.

*There will not be official supervision of students in the time between the end of the school day and the start of the bonfire. However, there will be many adults on campus afterschool watching the soccer game.

School Photographs for Peoples Academy will be on Friday, September 16th.  Order forms will be given to students this week and should be handed in directly to the photographer when pictures are taken.

UnBound: The Fall Session Schedule for Unbound 2022 has been released. Please see the attached schedule for opportunities for high school students to participate and/or support the program.  If interested, complete the registration form found within the packet and return to Mark McNall via the office.

Guidance – What’s your bacon?

Over the next several weeks students will be participating in TA activities related to wellness. We are doing these activities to help set up students for a strong and successful school year. Our first topic is ‘resilience’. All students participated in an activity today during TA related to resilience. Resilience is what gives people the emotional strength to cope with trauma, adversity, and hardship. Resilient people use their resources, strengths, and skills to overcome challenges and work through setbacks.

At PA this could look like:

-Using flextime to get help from a teacher

-Reaching out to an adult with a question or concern

-Introducing yourself to someone new

During our activity today, students watched this video to help them think about resilience. Ask your students to tell them why we watched a video of a dog walking through a door. Also, find out what their bacon is! Our next activity will provide students with some skills and resources to improve resilience and reduce anxiety.
