Dear PAML Families,

This week we recognize teacher appreciation week nationwide.  It’s a really good opportunity for all of us to pause for a moment and consider how much the school adults in our student’s lives mean to all of us.  The last couple of years have been especially tough on our educators in a multitude of different ways.  I hope you’ll join me in thanking our school adults for their dedication and resolve in service to our community.

I would like to extend my most sincere expression of gratitude to all of our families who got together to show their appreciation for our school adults.  Our staff was treated to a dessert bar on Wednesday afternoon and bagels on Thursday morning.  Thank you all so much!

Finally, thank you all for your flexibility around our last minute change with our school play.  Lisa Leopold and the cast of FAME Jr. will be ready to share their production with you on Tuesday 5/10 at 6:30 PM.  As I have been saying over the past couple of weeks, May can be a very busy month.  Please keep a close eye on the dates below.  We will update the list each week with as much detail as we have.

Thank you for your continued support!

Matt Young, Principal

Lamoille Health Partners Community Center Is now Open!
On Monday, May 2nd, the Lamoille Health Partners Community Center located on 26 Union Street in Morrisville, opened its doors for middle school students to come socialize, play games, and build life skills through fun activities in a safe, supervised space.  Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.  We at Lamoille Health Partners are super excited to provide this safe space and look forward to serving our community’s children.

Amanda Camargo, the head of the community center, is originally from Quincy, Massachusetts, and has lived in the Northeast Kingdom for the past five years.  She specializes in the arts and communications, and has experience opening youth centers, as well as working with youth both in Massachusetts and in Hardwick, Vermont. She is both excited and eager to serve the youth of Morrisville via the center and hopes to empower the children to have a greater sense of pride in their community as well as in their own talents and skills.

Students may drop in at any time.  Please review the Community Center Promise below with your students.  This document outlines the community center’s expectations for safe participation.
