Dear Families,

We’re in for another blast of really cold weather this week.  PE classes are supposed to go outside this week for skiing and Kindy snowshoeing, but they will stay in if the weather is too cold.  Please remember to send students in with all their winter gear on their PE days.  We have a procedure that we send all students out for their 30 minute recess, unless the wind chill factor brings the “feels like” temp down below zero.  We’ve had a lot of indoor recess lately, which is hard on the kids.  They really need their time outside to run, play, and be able to take their masks off, so we’re going to get them out every chance we get. Please let me know if you need any assistance with providing warm winter clothes, hats, mittens, snow pants or boots.  We have had many donations from local businesses and have funds to help families out.

We continue to see small amounts of positive COVID cases among our community members, but parents are still doing an amazing job communicating with our school nurse and keeping kids home when they are sick.  We are not seeing COVID spreading within our building, and that is a really positive thing for keeping our staff and teachers working and your kids in school. Thank you for all you are doing at home during these challenging times.
