Greetings Stowe Middle School Families,

I hope you were able to enjoy the snow this week! It was long overdue! At Stowe Middle School, we took advantage of this snow by shifting our recess opportunity to Sledding! Students and adults have been found behind the school sledding on our hill. You can see lots of happy smiling faces. Students are burning off a lot of energy too! As one eighth grader said, “This is so much better, MUCH better…(than the rec court)”! Recess is about 20 minutes and we anticipate going outside as much as possible.

Friday Program Updates – We are hoping for snow and warmer temperatures for Friday Program as our winter season progresses. Remember, Friday Program is K-12 and we look for temperatures higher than single digits! Please be on the lookout for emails and any other updates regarding Friday Program cancellations due to cold temperatures, etc. We will work with our community partners to see about make-up dates. Click here to preview our Friday Program slideshow. This will provide timely information, expectations and how to get ready for the program! I will produce a video going over the slideshow, expectations, etc. soon! Students have seen this once in their advisory.

Please review the information below from our school counselor. Ms. Conti is visiting and collaborating with each grade level this month on the following…

Live Your Why: Passport Edition Update!

Hi Everyone,

Healthy Lamoille Valley is currently running a project called Live Your Why: Passport Edition, which encourages middle school students to engage with their community and participate in some fun activities. The project works by students getting a little passport (like a pamphlet), and then for each HLV sponsored activity or event, they can stamp a page in their passport for completing it. If all are stamped, then students can hand the passport in for a prize. Certain activities will be highlighted on HLV’s website, where more information can also be found. Currently, there is a display in the middle school lobby with passports which can be picked up, and more information. Feel free to ask your students about the display, or reach out to HLV youth intern, Kate Lewton: More information is available at:
