Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break with your families.  I went around to some classrooms today to welcome everyone back and took an informal PIE survey.  It was amazing how many kids said “Pumpkin”, and that was usually because Mom or Mimi makes the best pumpkin pie. The second most popular was chocolate pudding pie!

The Annual Title I Parent Meeting: December 9th, at 6:30.  This is a VIRTUAL meeting. The link to join is . At this meeting, I will explain how our Title I federal funds are used at MES. Parents are encouraged to be involved in these decisions, so this will be the meeting where you can learn about and share your ideas of how to best support our students.

I will also share the Title I School/Caregiver/Student Compact at this meeting.  Before the meeting, I’d like to get some parent feedback on these elements of co-responsibility in educating our community’s children.

Please take the SURVEY here to offer feedback on the School/Caregiver/Student Compact. Thank you for your involvement.

Winter is here! Now that we have snow on the playground, we all need to make sure our students are dressed for recess.  Kids need a winter coat, snow pants and winter boots to fully participate on our playground. Kids with sneakers or light shoes will not be allowed in the snow, but will have to stay on the cleared blacktop.  Kids without snow pants will not be allowed to go sledding.  The reasons are because without the proper clothing or footwear, they will come in soaking wet and cold and will want to go to the nurse for warm dry clothes, and of course our nurse only has clothing for emergencies.  If you cannot supply these items for your child, please let me know.  We have a special fund here called Morristown Cares, and we can help with the purchase of clothing or shoes needed so all students can actively participate in our long Vermont winter. And, we have tons of sleds, no need to send in one from home.

Have you signed up your child for their vaccine yet?
