Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! This was the big excitement of the week as a “rafter” of wild turkeys wandered through the school’s front lawn! No wonder the Pilgrims had turkey dinners this time of year – they are so plentiful! Hope your holiday is plentiful as well, with good food and love of family and friends.

Dear Families,

Early in December, I will be hosting a Title I Parent/Caregiver Night, to inform parents and involved caregivers of how we typically utilize our Title I federal grant funds at MES. As always, we want to give parents an opportunity to have a voice in these decisions. This event will be held via a virtual Google Meet, and I will send you the meeting link when the date and time have been decided. An important part of our Title I School-wide program is family engagement, and the LSUU School Board is now putting the final touches on the Family Engagement Policy. An important feature of the Family Engagement Policy is the collaborative creation of a School/Family/Student Compact, outlining the responsibilities each group should accept in the education of our community’s children. MES teachers and staff have had an opportunity to have input in the language of this compact, and it’s important that I hear your opinions as well.

You can view the draft compact here: Title I School/Caregiver/Student Compact

Please take the SURVEY here to offer feedback on the School/Caregiver/Student Compact. Thank you for your involvement.
