Spirit week kicked off with students and staff leaving their backpacks at home and some people got creative with some extra home appliances in place of backpacks. Is anyone else seeing double?

This week at Peoples Academy we are showing our spirit, and it’s not the spooky kind.  In celebration of Homecoming, our Student Leadership team has organized Spirit Week.  Monday kicked off with Pajama/Anything but a Backpack Day and Tuesday was filled with  students and faculty Twinning!  It’s always so great to see the excitement and effort that goes into making these events successful.  Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to enjoy our traditional Bonfire.  This is disappointing for all of us, but the decision was made with consideration to our top priority of safety.  We are focusing on what we can celebrate.  Speaking of celebrating, we would like to invite the community to acknowledge Jim Eisenhardt’s retirement and career during halftime of the Girls Homecoming game on Friday, October 22nd.

Looking Ahead: During e-registration we asked families if they would like to continue receiving paper copies of the mastery report for the 2021-2022 school year. Based on the high number of families requesting a paper copy of the report, we will be issuing all families a paper mastery report this school year. Mastery Reports, current and past, will continue to be available electronically via PowerSchool parent portal.

Best,
Phil Grant, Principal

STAYING SAFE!
Vaccine Form: If your student is eligible for the vaccine, we are requesting that you complete an attestation form. This form has been emailed to everyone individually.  We are also providing it here in case you missed it. The purpose of this has nothing to do with masking at this time, but is more focused on potential close contacts and keeping our students in school. If there is a positive case and your child is a close contact quarantine will be necessary, even if there are no symptoms, without evidence of vaccination.  Having this information supports a fast and efficient process when determining risks.
