Please Note: While the school day officially begins at 8:10 AM, supervision starts at 7:30 AM. Please do not drop your child off prior to 7:30 on any day. We’ve noticed that children have been arriving considerably earlier than allowed, which is a safety concern for us all.
Dear SES Families ~
What a wonderful week we had at SES, as we enjoyed lots of outdoor/play recreation and learning beyond the classroom walls, as illustrated by Mrs. Bixler’s 1st Grade class in the above photo. With colder weather and variable forecasts on the horizon, please make sure your children are adequately prepared for all conditions. Tips on cold/rainy weather apparel here.

It’s Friday Activity Program time and we are excited that we can again provide this opportunity to our students. Many details need to be coordinated to make this program a success. This year’s Friday Program Dates: January 7, 14, 21, 28; February 11, 18; and March 4, 11.
Friday Program FAQs
All students required to participate in an activity, as it is part of the school day. Please let us know if you have any questions! Stowe Mountain Resort Student Friday Program passes are only good for Fridays during Friday Program. SES Friday Program Registration Form

PHOTO RETAKE DAY: Wednesday, October 20, 7:40 AM for faculty/staff, students and sibling photos to follow.
As we incorporate more outdoor activities into our daily routine, we have reinstituted the practice of outdoor recess prior to the start of the school day (with the exception of PreK and K, for the time being). The playground, blacktop, and basketball court will be structured into fully supervised pods and students will adhere to the playground rules that have been reinforced in their classrooms.
A message for all of our Classroom/Field Trip Volunteers… Thank you for your willingness to assist in fun, rewarding activities and generosity in sharing your time with us. All adults who volunteer with children in a school setting must be cleared through a criminal record check process on a yearly basis. For the volunteer forms and instructions, click here. Please note, it can take up to 10 days for your request to be processed.
We currently have two paraprofessional positions available at SES. If you or someone you know would be interested in exploring this opportunity further, please contact Nina Slade (nina.slade@lsuu.org or 802-253-4154). Ideal candidates will provide support for individual and small groups of students, focusing on personal development, behavioral support, and social-emotional skills. Additionally, we are urgently seeking individuals to fill in as guest teachers (aka substitute teachers). Please contact Dot or Sue as they will gladly assist you!
SES / 6 Day Rotating Schedule ~ What does this mean? This year we will have a 6 day Unified Arts rotating schedule. It will be important to know what day it is on the schedule so that your child/ren will have the important materials and supplies needed for their Unified Arts classes. We are implementing this schedule so that we have no more lost days and classes. Classroom teachers will be messaging about what this will look like on a daily basis. The schedule for the upcoming two weeks is as follows:
Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6 |
M 10/18 | T 10/19 | W 10/20 | TH 10/21 | F 10/22 | |
M 10/25 | T 10/26 | W 10/27 | TH 10/28 | F 10/29 | M 11/1 |
Thank you for your continuing partnership and support. As always, if I can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me directly or set up an appointment with Dot or Sue.
Warmly,
Nina Slade, Principal
