Dear PAML Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.  I am thrilled to report that we are ready to warmly greet all of our students on Monday morning, August 30, for our first day of school.  Our faculty and staff have been hard at work this week preparing for the year ahead.  We have spent time reviewing safety guidelines, setting goals for the year, and developing plans to make sure our work with students is as impactful as possible.  As the year progresses you can expect a weekly note from me distributed on Fridays.

We currently have 2 paraprofessional positions available at PAML. If you or someone you know would be interested in exploring this opportunity further, please contact our office.  We’d be happy to discuss available opportunities with you.

As we look forward to our first day of school please keep in mind these brief safety reminders:

  • Masks are required when indoors at school and on the bus.
  • One of the most important prevention strategies we have is to please have your student stay home when they are sick.
  • Students can expect to eat lunch in their classrooms or outdoors in small groups for the foreseeable future.

Below are some logistics that will be important for you to know as we prepare for Monday.

Bus Routes: The bus routes have been formulated and are available on our website.  If you have questions about bussing please call our office.

Arrival: While we will no longer be using a formal morning screening process, we will be using the same traffic pattern that we used last year.  Please pull as far forward as possible in the front of the building before dropping your student off.  We are ready to accept students any time between 7:30 and 7:55.  Students will go directly to their TA teacher’s classroom.  We will have plenty of staff available on the first day to help everyone get to where they need to go.

Dismissal: All students will be dismissed at 2:45.  As students are picked up in vehicles, please use the same traffic pattern as arrival.  Students heading off to athletics on 9/1 should follow the plan communicated by their coaches.

Please mark your calendars with these important dates:

  • September 3 and 6: No school for Labor Day holiday
  • September 16: No school in observance of Yom Kippur

If we can help support your family’s start to this school year in any way, please do not hesitate to contact our office. I have included a few additional announcements below.  Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,
Matt Young

LSUU Food Service is once again providing breakfast and lunch meals for FREE for all students during the 2021 – 2022 school year.  Breakfast will be available as a “grab and go” in the lobby in the morning.  Students will walk down to the cafeteria to pick up meals for lunch.
