Greetings Stowe Middle School Families,
This week’s family update is here! There is a lot of excitement at Stowe Middle School as we approach the conclusion of 2020-2021. Today in 8th Grade we had our annual Academic Fair! I was impressed with the projects, new learnings and areas of passion our students have. Some examples of the projects are below. Here we have students sharing their knowledge of Women’s Rights, Genetic Splicing and Electric Flight. Students completed research and interviews to discover their new learning. Our Electric Flight presentation included an interview of a Vermont resident who use to fly Air Force One!
Our sixth graders have been working hard on their climate communication projects in science. Their goal was to communicate clearly and creatively about an issue related to human impacts on the environment. Students created compelling work in a variety of media from poems, songs, and sculptures to paintings, informational posters, and videos. If you are the parent of a sixth grader, you will be able to view the Virtual Gallery with your child in Schoology later this week. Here are some sneak peeks from this morning!
We plan to start promptly at 6pm on Thursday night! We emailed all 8th grade families about obtaining reserved section seats for this event. If you’re not an 8th grade parent / guardian but are interested in attending please click here → tinyurl.com/SMS8thGrade2021
Additionally, students are responsible for handing in their school issued Chromebooks on Thursday, June 10th. Please make sure your student brings their Chromebook, the school provided case and the charger. Click here to see the suggested summer reading for middle school students created by our language arts teachers! If you need access to books please reach out email@example.com who can assist!
As always, thanks for all you do!
