Dear Parents and Guardians,

What a whirlwind this year has been!  It’s hard to believe this is our last week of school. All of us at MES cannot thank our parents enough for all the cooperation we have received this year in following our safe and healthy guidance.  You sent your kids in with multiple masks, you called Nurse Jamie to ask questions and let us know important information, and you kept your children home for the simplest of childhood colds – which we understand was not easy to do!  You also helped them join their remote Morning Meetings on Wednesdays and helped them get their work done so those remote days could count toward their attendance.  There have been many Superheroes who have gotten us through this difficult year, and our parents, grandparents, and caregivers have been a huge part of this team.

We’ve had a blast last week and this week with our Color Run (sure to become an annual tradition), the school BBQ, field days, field trips, and lots of outdoor time. We all hope your families get to have a “normal” summer with relatives, friends, vacations, and lots of hugs (this morning a 2nd grader told me he hopes we can come back to school in the fall and get hugs again, because he’s missed that!).

In the mail:  Watch your mailboxes this summer for your child’s final Mastery Report (hopefully mailed out the week of June 21st) and for a letter later in the summer from your child’s teacher. That letter will lay out a plan for conferences or meet & greets right before school starts, probably on Aug. 27.  School starts Aug. 30th.  See you then!  Let’s keep our fingers crossed that parents will be allowed to come into the school again.  We’ve missed you!
