The LSUU School Board and Superintendent Wrend announced today that Wrend will leave her position as superintendent at the end of the 2021 school year.
“I truly appreciate the opportunity I had to serve the communities, schools, and students of LSUU,” said Wrend “I am most proud of my continued commitment to doing what was best for each and every LSUU student, even when it was hard, unpopular, or difficult to explain publicly. After over a decade with the district I feel that it is now time for me to explore other opportunities. I look forward to watching LSUU continue to grow positively in the future with the needs of all students at the forefront.”
Wrend has served as the school district’s superintendent for nearly 14 years after being employed for the previous ten years in a variety of teaching and administrative positions. Leading the district for over a decade, she achieved an excellent teacher retention rate, high student test scores, and brought the district through both a voluntary and involuntary merger process with a steady hand.
“Tracy Wrend has made a deep and lasting contribution to LSUU and to education in Lamoille County and within Vermont,” said David Bickford, LSUU Board Chair. “The LSUU Board thanks her for her service and wishes her well in her future endeavors.”
Wrend’s last day with LSUU will be June 30, 2021. The LSUU Board will begin their search for a new superintendent shortly. Details regarding this search will be forthcoming.
