MES Change in Health Screening Procedures
For parents who drop students off at MES in the morning
STARTING THURSDAY, January 14, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

You may have noticed that the mornings are getting colder and our thermometers are getting lower and lower temperature readings at your cars.  The thermometers are not meant to be used in outdoor temps this low, and are not providing accurate readings, so we are changing our procedure.

Starting Thursday, we are asking families to complete the health screening prior to arriving at school. This includes taking your child’s temperature and recording it in the 2020-2021: LSUU Building Access Health Screening Form.  If you have done the screening at home, when you arrive at MES simply let your child get out of the car and enter the building. We will have a crew of screeners taking every child’s temperature in the lobby as an additional method of screening. If any child has a temp of 100 degrees or higher, we will put them into one of our isolation rooms and call parents to come and pick them up.

If you are not able to fill out the screening form for your child, we will still have a few people in the circle to ask health screening questions and walk your child inside to get their temperature taken.

If you have any questions or need a new QR code to load the health screening form on your phone, call the school at 888-3101. Please remember that all children should be dropped off between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

We are hoping this new procedure will make our morning drop-off even more efficient and still keep our school community healthy and safe.

Sincerely,
Kate Torrey, MES Principal
