Dear Stowe High School Families and Students,
Earlier this evening we learned of a positive COVID case in our schools. As a result, schools are closed for in-person instruction tomorrow, Friday, December 4th.
All of our faculty and staff have been planning for this possibility and will be prepared to work with students remotely tomorrow. We will be following the schedule listed below. We will start the day in advisory. All students will meet with their advisors via Google Meet in order to review the day’s schedule and answer any questions they may have regarding the expectations for Friday’s learning. At this time we are only addressing and focused on learning for tomorrow. Therefore, the students scheduled for in-person learning will synchronously work with their teachers.
Students who were not scheduled for in-person learning tomorrow will continue with their normal home plan. In some cases, a teacher may determine that it is appropriate to meet with all students, and the teacher will communicate with their classes about their expectations. This decision will be dependent on the current lesson plans that are in place.
We know that this shift may cause students to feel anxious, scared, and/or confused. We encourage students to reach out to their school counselors and advisors if they need to connect with an adult to talk through their feelings and thoughts.
We will continue to provide updates as we learn more information. Thank you for your continued support, flexibility, and understanding during this time.
Gretchen Muller, Principal
